My friend told me the other day that Mando Diao are selling VIP tickets for their autumn tour for €150 each. But VIP is not a real VIP but only means a normal gig ticket that costs about 40€ plus a meet&greet after a gig. You can also "upgrade"your normal gig ticket if you pay 120€ to meet the band. Haha megalomaniacs!
Other bands that are actually much more famous love meeting their fans and talking to them and what do they do? I had a discussion with my friend about that and we were wondering if from now on every time the will meet some fan outside a meet and greet they will charge them per minute. How high would this price have to be?I mean if they charge 120€ for just the meet&greet and a meet&greet is basically just getting a picture taking and an autograph which takes approx 2 minutes which is 60€ per minute? Hmm.. I also think that fans that paid this price could be upset if other fans don't have to pay this price when they meet the band outside the venue etc.
They think they are something better because they are famous and look down at their fans because they like them. I think it's just disgusting. Most of their fans are small teenagers that can't even afford this and will spend their last money on it.
I can't believe I actually supported Mando Diao when they first came out in 2005. I saw them at so many gigs around Germany, Holland and London but the bigger they got the more arsehole they became. They don't appreciate what fans do for them, they don't come over to talk to them, even if they saw their face about 30 times and more, as I said they think they are better than us. This is why I stopped liking them. Arschgeigen as one of my friends would say. I think this is also mainly the reason why they lost the whole first generation of their fans. I mean all people I knew who liked them a few years ago are not interested in them anymore. I kind of regret spending so much of my money and time on them but after all I met loads of wonderful people who are still my friends and we get on well, this is why it was worth it.

Some critique were ventilated when the VIP Sessions were announced. Rest assured, this will only benefit the Special Units and the Street team!
Mando Diao was asked by the promoter – upon request from fans – to do a small acoustic session at each gig day and thought this would be a great idea. If there’s a profit from these sessions this will be used to pay for design, sound and lights at the arenas were the regular concerts are performed and to additional touring in new countries.
By being able to cover these costs we will give the Street team more than ever before. The Presidents will always be appreciated and treasured. So, this means that the Street team will always receive things that can not be bought, such as soundcheck attendance (if there is any at all), private meet and greet, aftershow parties attendance (if there’s room and if we have those), exclusive merch AND in the future, we are working on some more important features were we will try to get fans from different countries to meet and exchange experiences. More about that later.
Legends and Citizens with the most points will always get benefits that no one else can get. Please however, understand that in order to b creative and supply the Citizens, including the Special Units with benefits, we also have to be inventive and creative on the business side. Otherwise we can’t go around the world with the show.
So for the fall tour we’re still planning sound check’s and Meet and Greet’s for only our Street team. Hopefully we’re also looking at a unique song played at the sound check and perhaps even some exclusive items you can take home as a precious memory.
Mando loves you and you will always have a very special place in their hearts – surely you must feel this!!

ReplyDeletesarah ist zum beispiel ein jahr jünger als ich, und sie wollte gerne zu einem konzert von ihnen.
aber wenn die so geldgierig sind, kann sie sich das nicht leisten. wie du schon sagst, es gibt bands die sind vieeeeeeeeeeel berühmter und erfolgreicher und die sind nicht so widerlich abgehoben und freuen sich wenn sie mal mit ihren fans reden!
haha, ja ,und bestimmt verlangen sie jetzt von jedem mit dem sie mal geredet haben auch geld :D
