Pete im Doppelpack - my weekend

Last weekend was supposed to be a quiet weekend in for me but after Alex's friends couldn't make it to go to Fabric with him, I was already getting ready to go with him when we heard Pete would be playing at the 126 that night. 126 is a small flat in the East End with lots of slot machines and a little bar. When we arrived, we were told that Pete has just left his house and is on his way. So we grabbed a drink and sat down. The music in this place was weird, old school drum and base. Bungle and me were discussing that this whole situation seems like a weird blurred dream, it was just such an unlikely place for Pete to play haha.
But of course he came. We were only like 30 people there and most of us were sitting on the pool table while he was playing. He had some troubles with his microphone as he hung it up on a lamp and the lamp wouldn't stop spinning when he was singing which ended up in him chasing after the microphone :D It was quite funny to watch, poor Pete.
He was in a great mood and played loads of requests from us, the setlist included
The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
Every Day Is Like Sunday
Rubber Ring
Rusholme Ruffians
Heaven Knows Im Miserable Now
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
Well I Wonder
Up the Bracket / What She Said
West End Girls
Cant Stand Me Now
Dont Look Back Into The Sun
What A Waster
Psycho Killer
Hired Gun
Dilly Boys
You Talk
Back From The Dead
Radio America
Bollywood To Batersea
Arcady
Im Forever Blowing Bubbles
Last Of The English Roses
Death On The Stairs
The Man Who Would Be King
You're My Waterloo
Paperback Writer
I Love You But You're Green
Beg Steal Or Borrow
I Wanna Be Adored and many more.
After he finished playing the first set most of the people went home. But the rest of us had loads of fun with Pete playing drum and base songs and having a laugh. It just seemed to go on forever until he sat down to play more songs. It was very sweet to watch him playing guitar with two boys and singing The Smiths songs together.
I think we must have been there till about 6 o'clock until the owners kicked us out. It was a great night and this made us wanna go to the Woodberry Tavern on Sunday even more.
There were a lot of Writtlers there and it was very nice to meet them.
We arrived quite early again after thinking Babyshambles would be the last band on at 11pm but the place was empty still.
After Cal Roberts couldn'tmake it, he was replaced with an awful female artist whose name I have forgotten. We were happy when she stopped singing.
Pete arrived early and was at the bar before Babyshambles played.
The next band on was the Younghearts. They were really good and we already saw them on friday but a huge group of the people rather followed Peter through the place and outside than enjoying the music. Poor Pete!
Next were Babyshambles. It was sooo good to see them play together again after haven't seeing them since March, every time I see them I love this band more :)
They played a great set and everyone seemed to have a good time.
After that, a band I have never seen before, called the Skuzzies came on stage. I really enjoyed to see them playing.
Then Alan Wass Band was on and it got wild. We were all dancing and even Pete joined it and was jumping and smiling. It was really good to see him so happy.
After the General finished with set Pete came on stage again with Joe Fox from the Younghearts and the drummer from the Skuzzies and they were playing loads of Libertines songs, Don't look back in anger, She loves you and many more. The whole place was going mad, so that the owner and another man had to stand in front of the people to stop them. The General jumped on stage too and let the crowd sing along to songs with holding the microphone for them.We enjoyed ourselves so much, thank you Peter!

things that made me laugh :D

Has any of you noticed that Julian Casablancas looks like a brunet Brüno on the newest NME? They are even wearing the same top. I think it's hilarious :D

Rock and Rose/ my weekend :D

After a nice sunny friday afternoon which we spent sitting at a pub's balconny by the river drinking wine (me) and beer (Alex) we wanted to go out for a meal but as I got too drunk, we had to wait for the next day lol.

On Saturday we went for a meal to a nice posh restaurant in Richmond, one of Alex's friends has recommended to him called Rock and Rose. This name reminded me of the perfume by Valentino and so did the decor in the restaurant. I actually wonder if there is any connection between these two things.

We had humous and pitta (which I seem to be addicted to at the moment), tuna steak (me), lobster (Alex), a bottle of rose and for dessert creme brulee. It was delicious but just too much. I hate myself for never being able to know when to stop eating. Every lovely meal always end with belly ache, I must be kind of greedy I guess :S

Broken Love Song

I was quite excited about the release of this EP as one of my favourite songs ever, "Ballad of Grimaldi" is the B-Side. I downloaded it yesterday from Amazon which was only 70p.

I absolutely love the song, the lyrics touch my soul.

While there's still a fighting chance
Can't you just get up and go
And get away from this hollow romance
It's slowly binding us both
Because you tell me what you want and I'll avoid it
Tell it to the sick and to the damned
Show me what you love, watch me destroy it
For your love just crumbles in my hands

But if you stay for a while..
I'll try to think of something kind to say
And maybe if we pray for a while
St. Jude may hear my pleas
And see me on my bended knees

Because she knows how I adore you
We won't be fighting again tonight
Not if she knows I adore you
No fighting again tonight..

I laugh and fall just like Grimaldi
You wear your make-up like Baby Jane
All of those promising lies that you told me
Come on and tell me them again

I walked these streets all of my life..
The fear and hope
...

Because you tell him what you want and he'll avoid it
May as well tell it to the sick and to the damned
Show him what you love, watch him destroy it
For your love seems to crumble in his hands

Guinea pigs

They are so cute animals, they have such a friendly face :) I can't believe there are actually people who eat them, that's disgusting, when I was looking for guinea pig pictures on google, some pictures of guinea pig roast came up, that was terrible!
I was thinking about getting back to Germany next month and thought how terrible it will be to be all alone in my flat again. So I thought I maybe buy one or two guinea pigs. I had some when I was a child and they were really sweet but I'm scared that maybe I'm not able to look after a pet as I usually don't have money to buy myself food halfway through the month and all my potted plants died as I forgot to water them :(

I can't wait for the gig autumn!

Although I was always more a summer person, but the autumn should be good :)
Pete will be on tour. I actually have tickets for 3 gigs already, the Queen Of Hoxton gig and the New Slang Kingston gig which will be rescheduled, the Roundhouse gig in September and I also plan of going to these Pete Doherty gigs:

Sunday 22-Nov-09 Netherlands Utreht Tivoli
Monday 23-Nov-09 Netherlands Rotterdam Watt
Tuesday 24-Nov-09 Netherlands Eindhoven Effenaar
Sunday 29-Nov-09 Germany Munich Backstage Werk
Monday 30-Nov-09 Germany Cologne Essigfabrik
Tuesday 01-Dec-09 Germany Hamburg Uebel & Gefaehrlich

I will also and and see the Rifles and Kasabian. Both are touring in Germany in October.
27 Oct 2009 Rifles at Live Music Hall/Köln
28 Oct 2009 Kasabian at Live Music Hall/Köln

I wonder how I will manage to go to university with such a busy calender lol
I can't wait for tomorrow, as I will have money again and will be able to buy all these tickets :D

The reason why I don't like hairdressers

I have been to the hairdresser last tuesday to get a half head of highlights done and take the ends of but the result was disgusting.
I had the same hairstylist like last time, a ginger guy with ugly shoes. Last time I went for a full head, he only coloured my roots (and not even properly) and he said my hair was too damaged to make it brighter but then still charged the whole price. He also sold me some really rubbish shampoo and conditioner for 30 quid.
I can't believe I let this idiot do my hair again!
He cut off so much that it's shoulder length now and I hate this length also he cut my fringe so shitty that it looked like a Lady Gaga fringe, although I said I want a side fringe. He didn't do the highlights properly as the colour looks exactly the same as before although I said I want it brighter and he didn't do the roots as it still looks like as if I have never been to the hairdresser. ARGHHHHHHHHH i hate him I could kill him!!! I will never go back to this arsehole again :(
I will have book another appointment to do my hair PROPERLY next week as I hate it so much right now, I wish I never went in first place :(

Simian Mobile Disco and Gold Panda

I finally managed to see Simain Mobile Disco last night at the itunes festival ater Alex and me turned up one day too early and queued up just to find out inside the venue that the gig we had tickets for was one day later. We both couldn't believe it as we had to print out tickets which both said the date very big on them haha.
Well but last night was finally the right date then :) We turned up quite early and even managed to see the support which was Gold Panda. We didn't really enjoy it as it was pretty boring. I mean there was just one guy on stage with his mac book wearing a panda hat and the music he made sounded like background music for a film.
Simian Mobile Disco were amazing. It's weird because I have never really been into any other music than indie but I start enjoying house music too. Alex laughed at me last night because of that :S I loved the light show they had and loads of people were dancing crazily. Some of them actually made me laugh but better dancing at gigs than standing around and taking one after the other picture blocking the view with their cameras like other people do.

I don't understand bands who sell meet&greet's

I mean how money greedy can you be???
My friend told me the other day that Mando Diao are selling VIP tickets for their autumn tour for €150 each. But VIP is not a real VIP but only means a normal gig ticket that costs about 40€ plus a meet&greet after a gig. You can also "upgrade"your normal gig ticket if you pay 120€ to meet the band. Haha megalomaniacs!
Other bands that are actually much more famous love meeting their fans and talking to them and what do they do? I had a discussion with my friend about that and we were wondering if from now on every time the will meet some fan outside a meet and greet they will charge them per minute. How high would this price have to be?I mean if they charge 120€ for just the meet&greet and a meet&greet is basically just getting a picture taking and an autograph which takes approx 2 minutes which is 60€ per minute? Hmm.. I also think that fans that paid this price could be upset if other fans don't have to pay this price when they meet the band outside the venue etc.
They think they are something better because they are famous and look down at their fans because they like them. I think it's just disgusting. Most of their fans are small teenagers that can't even afford this and will spend their last money on it.
I can't believe I actually supported Mando Diao when they first came out in 2005. I saw them at so many gigs around Germany, Holland and London but the bigger they got the more arsehole they became. They don't appreciate what fans do for them, they don't come over to talk to them, even if they saw their face about 30 times and more, as I said they think they are better than us. This is why I stopped liking them. Arschgeigen as one of my friends would say. I think this is also mainly the reason why they lost the whole first generation of their fans. I mean all people I knew who liked them a few years ago are not interested in them anymore. I kind of regret spending so much of my money and time on them but after all I met loads of wonderful people who are still my friends and we get on well, this is why it was worth it.

The good old times:

Brüno and cinemas

We went to see Brüno on Monday in Richmond. The cinema was pretty weird because they even didn't bother to make popcorn. I wonder if all English cinemas are like this because it was the first time I was inside an English cinema ever. For me popcorn is as much important as the film to be honest, I love this stuff!
The film was funny especially the bit where they read out the actor's names in German but it had to much penis in it, gawrks the propeller cock in Brüno's video was over the top.
I wonder if the film is actually funny when it is in German because I think one of the funniest things about it is how Brüno copies the German accent...it can't be the same to watch this in German.
After that we went to Nando's. It was the first time I ordered a burger there and it was delicious, so much different than the McDonalds and Burger King ones. After I had a Burger King burger last night I have decided to not eat them ever anymore. Every time after eating one of them I kind of decide to never eat them again but then I somehow still try after a while and always regret it as they really taste disgusting. I can't believe that when I was a child I loved going there so much and always tried to persuade my parents to have lunch there.

My probabaly first favourite song ever ♥

I always wondered if...

...Kristian from Sugarplum Fairy

has an acting role as Kris in Hollyoaks?

Why is it so hard to get clothes in small sizes?

I was in Kingston today with Tina. Had a really nice day, shopping and went for a pint and some salad later on. I realised again that every time when the sale is on, there's nothing left that I like in my size. I just don't understand why it is so hard to get something in a size 6. Some shops don't even bother to make clothes in this size like for example oasis etc I don't think that's such an unusual size :S I remebmber when I lived in Germany it was even worse. The only shop with fashionable clothes there is H&M. But even the size Small there is like a size 8 in the UK. So I had to wear too big clothes for almost all my life! You can't even get my bra size in Germany unless you order in a catalogue. I said it to my sister as a joke that H&M just makes fashion for fatties :S I mean I can't buy any hot pants from there as they are all too big. Another thing with H&M and Germany is that if you listen to indie music, this is the only shop you buy your clothes from, means you can recognize people even in England that they are German because they are wearing the clothes you had to buy when you lived there. I'm so happy to be in London, I can't imagine going back to the tiny selection of clothes that the Germans have and I never buy from H&M anymore as I know all German people wear it haha...anyway I think I'm kind of drunk. I just went to the shop for Tina to get some wine and fags and wine makes me drunk quite quickly...

Alex went to Global Gathering with his best friend today and I miss him sooo much already. He has only been away since the morning but it's terrible :( I just wish I could be with him 24/7! I must sound like a stalker haha but the most important is that he is happy and has a good time.

I'm off back drinking again. Good Night xxx

Graham Coxon zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I thought I was lucky yesterday when I got the email that I won tickets to see Graham Coxon playing at the itunes festival. I entered the Fearne Cotton competition on wednesday. They were giving away 5 pairs of tickets, somehow I knew I would win because I wasn't too bothered to go to the gig...and so I did. I tried to win tickets to se Kasabian on the same day playing for xfm but seems I always win tickets for gigs I'm not really bothered about haha
Well Alex and me went down there quite late. The support band was even okay although I have never heard of Esser before. The venue was packed if I compare it with the last time when we went to see Jack Penate there. When Graham Coxon started playing I started to bore myself...Alex and me tried to give him a chance and still stayed for about almost an hour but it seemed like nobody was really enjoying it and many people were leaving early. Alex told me that even people at the toilet were complaining about how boring it was and people kept on talking while he was playing...I almost fell asleep. It was probably the most boring gig I have ever been to.

On the way back home we wanted to go to Fogg's which is our favourite restaurant in Camden but it was closed. I was gutted. We then went to Burger King but they didn't even have what I usually get in Germany, not the crispy chicken burger nor the wedges :( and Alex didn't get his milkshake. Bastards! Oh well, at least it's weekend again!

Seems like as soon I will be back in Germany loads and loads of bands will be touring there. Kasabian, The Rifles and even Pete will be on tour! I don't know how I will manage to write my bachelor work with all these gigs going on...haha xxx

I absolutely love pandas ♥

This is the panda Nicole gave to me for Christmas ♥

The big panda Alex gave me for Valentine's day and the little one I gave him for Valentine's day and no we didn't know we would both give pandas to each other ♥

I don't understand people who like Carl

I mean what's so special about him, he has no talent really, is only famous because he was a member of The Libertines and luckily Dirty Pretty Things split up as they were utter shit.
But it just seems people and especially the little girls on the forum can't stop talking about him eurgh

Oh this reminds me of something else, as I told you I'm watching Big Brother (yeah I know that's sad). There is a guy in there, called Marcus, he is probabaly the ugliest guy in the world, I'm really fascinated by his freakiness. It's terrible how he thinks he is so great and he can get all the girls. Have a look at him:

He and Carl must be brothers!

I can't believe I don't have money again. I bet that even if I win loads and loads of money one day I'm able to spend it all in one month. I saw so many nice things already.
I wanted to go to Marks&Spencer today to get some fruit salad so badly. I miss M&S fruit salad, it's so delicious. I especially like the melon and grapes or berries. I also miss the nice salt&vinegar crisps from there. Why do I always have to travel to go there?xxx

Tuesday 21 July 2009

no oasis tickets for me then...

I can't believe that after all these years they have been my favourite band and I couldn't win tickets to see them at the itunes festival, it's just not fair :(
Yesterday and today I have been basically trying everything to get tickets but no luck for me...no change there.....I got offered some to buy but I have only 5 pound left :S I'm rubbish.
I can't believe they have been selling them on ebay for 200 quid!

I met Steffi yesterday for some Camden shopping which was so good. We haven't seen each other in ages although we get on so well, it was like I met my lost twin sister. Was funny tho that the East End has scared her haha I love it there :)

I saw this lovely top in the sale on miss selfridge today, but I don't have even enough money for that, well I have just double checked and it's already sold out in my size :( seems I really don't have any luck today.

I got my shoes yesterday at last. I'm really happy about that although my stylefeed still grows and I don't have money left to buy anything from it! But I'm planning to go to a few gigs, too and that's why the next money I have must be spent for tickets as long as they are available.

I saw this very cool festival in Brick Lane, called Brick Lane Takeover. I'm definitely planning to go to that, as it's a very cool area and Eight Legs are playing, too. Hopefully the weather will get better till then.

I somehow can't wait for August as I will have money again but on the other hand don't want time to pass as it means uni will be starting soon and I will have to go back to Cologne. I can't imagine life without Alex anymore. I was feeling quite depressed lately as I was thinking a lot about that. I'm also quite scared of when I finish my course. I mean it's already so hard to get an unpaid internship here, how hard will it be to get a job then? xxx

Monday 20 July 2009

the weekend is over...

Kasabian was awesome :) I enjoyed myself so much. We were dancing and singing and at some point when I was jumping I spilt some of my drink over a moody girl in front of me and I said sorry but she kept on turning over and talking with her boyfriend, stupid bitch! I don't understand people who go to gigs just to stand there with one's arms folded and stare on the stage. These people should stay at home and buy a dvd of the gig or whatever...
Anyways we went home after and had "a few" drinks more which resulted in me not remembering half of the night and being ill the whole next day, seems like I never learn...

Yesterday I won tickets for the itunes festival to see Simian Mobile Disco. I won 2x2 tickets as I applied with 5 different email addresses for the competitions to make sure I win. I'm happy I won tickets to see SMD as Alex really likes them but don't you think it's funny that after I have never won nothing for years and years, I apply to win tickets for the itunes festival, mainly to see oasis and kasabian and then get 2 times the same tickets for something else???

I will go and meet up with one of my favourite friends, Steffi, today. She's in London for a couple of days and somehow we didn't manage to meet up in Germany so will meet up today. I have to go now to get my train xxx

Friday 17 July 2009

friday at last!

Although I can't really say that as I'm on holidays anyway haha but weekend for me means spending more time with Alex which is always good.
I hope my boots will be in the post today, I actually regret not paying for a next day delievery now as I really wanted to wear them to the Kasabian gig tonight.

I think I'm addicted to online shopping. It's so much better somehow because you can have a proper look at everything before you order something and there are no headaches and stress from 6 hours running from shop to shop, trying to see everything to not miss out on any nice clothes. I just wish I had more money because spending it online is also so much easier argh..

I got fake lashes the other day but the individual ones not the ones in one stripe because I always think they make me look like a transvestite haha I think they are quite good but it says on there, they stay on up to 4 weeks but most of them fell off as soon as I removed my make-up.

One thing I'm quite embarrassed for is that I can't stop watching Big Brother. I always hated it when I lived in Germany as it seemed to be so pointless. Maybe it's because English people are just more interesting haha I don't know.
I think I watch too much tv at the moment anyway. I was happy to see Channel 4 started showing the OC again! I love OC and I think they have the best music on the show. It's such a shame it's over well after Marissa died and this weirdo woman got together with Ryan it got shitty anyway...She is almost as annoying as Anna.

I subscribed to frenchdogblues yesterday for one day, because I wanted to check the Books of Albion. I was quite disappointed to be honest because the books on there were quite old, the newest from 2007. I wonder how long Pete needs to finish off one of the books and how long it takes after that for the people to put it on the site...

Anyways that's enough from the world of Agatha I think, I will try to come back tomorrow to write about the gig, let's see how wasted I get tonight xxx

Thursday 16 July 2009

helloooo

Somehow I wanted to start this since ages but as it's always hard to write the first few bits on a white piece of paper I always got scared off.
I hope this blog will keep my family and friends, well at least the ones that speak English, updated about my busy and exciting (yawn) life!

I have been ill for almost 2 weeks now and spent the whole day lazing about...not that I don't do this when I'm healthy haha.
I'm currently waiting for some nice boots that I have ordered from asos. They were a great bargain, although I haven't really bought any cheap and bargain clothes since ages. I'm not a Schnäppchenjäger=bargain hunter.

Tomorrow I'm going to see Kasabian with my boyfriend Alex, can't wait for that. I wasn't a big Kasabian fan, although I had their albums on my ipod and most of my friends liked them. Sometimes it's pretty hard to start listening to new music and I have never really tried until Alex won tickets to see them and took me there. They are really amazing.
But as much as I' m looking forward to see them, I really hope they will not be any beer showers anymore. My hair have had enough after Oasis on Saturday. It's one thing I really hate about gigs in the UK. I have been to so many gigs in Germany and Holland and have never seen that there. Somehow we Europeans prefer crowdsurfing to that. Arghh! I don't know what's worse...Anyways, have a think yourself. I'm off!
